TDCJ handlers train dogs to sniff out smuggled cell phones

It’s not hard to find people who think that cell phones stink, and those who train dogs to search for contraband phones at TDCJ facilities would agree.

Hazlewood, Bell named division directors, other senior appointments announced

Appointments to several senior TDCJ positions have been announced.

In August, Executive Director Brad Livingston announced the appointment of C.F. Hazlewood as director of the Manufacturing and Logistics Division. He replaces Rick Thaler, who was earlier named to succeed retired Correctional Institutions Division (CID) Director Nathaniel Quarterman.

New green detergent keeps TDCJ prison whites white

The job of getting dirty prison whites to come clean has gone green with the formulation of a new plant-based biodegradable detergent that not only contains fewer potentially harmful chemicals, but may also trim energy usage.
