Pathfinder Award – Victim Services Division
In 2003, Lana Norris contacted Victim Services and began volunteering to speak at victim impact panels. Lana Norris lost her son in a 1993 convenience store robbery. He was working nights when two men came into the store and killed him. Now Ms. Norris speaks to offenders, criminal justice professionals in training, and new parole officers to help them learn how to better assist victims of crime. She also speaks at conferences. To date she has participated in 14 panels in and around the Corpus Christi area. She is also very effective in working with offenders in helping them realize the on-going and devastating impact their crime has had on the victims, their families, the communities, and themselves. Ms. Norris is always ready and willing to assist and speak on a moments notice and is a valuable asset to the Victim Services Division. For her contribution and dedication to the welfare of victims, Lana Norris has been selected to receive the Victim Services Division prestigious Pathfinder Award.
The “Pathfinder” Award is given to an individual or group that has demonstrated leadership qualities in their volunteer service and made significant contributions to the welfare of victims.
