Ninety semester hours from a college or university that is accredited.
College can be substituted for prior law enforcement experience, correctional custody/officer, or jailer experience.
Currently holds an active Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) Peace Officer license and meet all current TCLEOSE requirements.
Or
Bachelors degree with major course work in criminal justice (preferred).
Experience in criminal justice, law enforcement, correctional custody/officer, or jailer experience in a county, state, or federal correctional system (preferred).
Upon selection, applicants will be required to successfully complete a TCLEOSE pre-service law enforcement training program selected and funded by the OIG.
Or
Ten years full-time, wage-earning experience as a correctional supervisor.
Gang intelligence experience preferred.
