If you meet the basic eligibility criteria, you will need to schedule Correctional Officer Screening. The first part of screening is a written pre-employment test. This test consists of a total of 100 multiple-choice questions. It has five parts: Memory and Observation, Situational Reasoning, Reading Comprehension/Deductive Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Arithmetic. If you require special devices or extra time to take the test, notify us in advance. Call (936) 437-4098. If you pass the test, you will be interviewed. The test and interview process will take 3 to 8 hours, depending on the time of your interview.

Important Testing Information

You will have two attempts to pass the pre-employment test within a one-year period. If you are unsuccessful on the second attempt, you will be eligible to reapply after one year from the date of your original test.
