If eligible for health coverage, the State pays the total cost for retirees’ health coverage and basic term life insurance, and pays 50% of health coverage costs for retirees’ eligible dependents.
Retiree health plan includes $2,500 basic term life with no AD&D coverage.
If enrolled in Optional Term Life Insurance on the day of retirement, an employee may purchase Optional Life Election I or II or a $10,000 policy. Otherwise, application through EOI may be made for a $10,000 Minimal Optional Life policy within 31 days of retirement.
Dependent term life $2,500, no AD&D coverage, if in effect on date of retirement.
