Texas Department of Criminal Justice
To assist TDCJ staff and the Board of Criminal Justice in fulfilling their missions, goals and objectives. Our office functions as a resource center by providing reliable information, quality publications, objective analysis, and useful technical assistance.
Perform statistical analysis; report offender housing and capacity to executive staff; coordinate and electronically distribute all Executive Directives, Board Policies and Administrative Directives for the agency; support Board of Criminal Justice meetings; develop speeches and presentations; coordinate and monitor community work projects and public service programs; complete national surveys; maintain the Records Retention Schedule for the agency; coordinates the State Employee Charitable Campaign; provide information and support special projects; and provide technical assistance wherever needed.
Executive Services is also responsible for producing numerous publications, inlcuding Fiscal Year Statisitical Report, Unit Profiles, Agency Organizational Charts, and the General Information Guide for Families of Offenders.
Research coordination is another function performed by Executive Administrative Services. Research is defined as an empirical review and analysis of information on processes, operations, and programs concerning offenders under adult supervision in the criminal justice system; employees; and records. Executive Services coordinates research conducted by individuals and organizations external to the TDCJ or by employees seeking individual benefit, such as a thesis, dissertation, or other publication.
