Prison and Jail Operations is responsible for the confinement of adult felony offenders who are sentenced to prison, state jails and substance abuse felony punishment facilities.

Canine Coordinator
The Canine Coordinator provides training, technical advice to kennel staff, and maintains the program’s statistics. There are 48 kennels throughout the agency along with 84 kennel staff personnel. These kennels are represented in all regions of the CID. Twenty-five kennels have pack-tracking canines only. Sixteen kennels incorporate both pack canines and scent-specific canines. Seven kennels have scent-specific canines only. Tracking canines are a key resource for security staff during escapes and assisting local law enforcement agencies.
