Prison Deterrence Education Programs

PRISON DETERRENCE EDUCATION PROGRAMS

The mission of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Prison Deterrence Education Programs is to participate collaboratively with community wide initiatives and judicial authorities to deter participants from making poor decisions that eventually lead to incarceration; thereby, reducing recidivism, supporting victims, and promoting public safety.

Programs

Adult Education Program

Courts may send adults who are on community supervision to a unit for a day in order for them to experience the environment of an incarcerated offender. >>More

Schools and Community Organizations may invite offender volunteer speakers to come and participate in awareness programs for young adults. >>More
