Texas Department of Criminal Justice
The Plans and Operations Department provides support to divisional leadership with tracking and implementation of legislation, coordinating, and staffing all security-related policies and operational plans.This department serves as the liaison to other state agencies and governmental officials. Plans and Operations participates in research and evaluation of offender suicide prevention, manages the CID web page, and disseminates information concerning emergency preparedness. This department also coordinates, trains, and conducts division-level operation reviews for the agency’s offender property process, offender suicides, and community work project procedures. In addition, Plans and Operations provides offender drug testing training to regional and unit drug testing coordinators as well as compiles and distributes various statistical reports.
