On 10/15/1997, during the nighttime, in Kerrville, Texas, Hernandez was working as a hired hand for a 49-year old white male. Hernandez broke into the victim's residence and beat the him to death with a metal bar. Hernandez then tied up the victim's wife and raped her repeatedly.
