Fallen Officers Honored
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice held the Fallen Officers' Memorial Ceremony in Huntsville to honor the dedicated professionals who lost their lives in the line of duty. This event and similar events throughout the state serve as a time to pause and remember the professionalism and dedication of all corrections staff, and offer a special opportunity to show our respect for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Executive Director Brad Livingston acknowledged the strength and courage of these TDCJ employees saying, “We owe so much to these dedicated public servants who day in and day out protect the public. We should all be proud to have served with those who devoted their lives, and in some cases ultimately lost their lives while providing public safety. We should be equally proud to recognize their sacrifice, honor their memories and be able to say they are not now, nor will they ever be forgotten.”
