New award options for retirees
with 20 or more years of state service

Starting in September, Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) employees who retire with 20 or more years of state service will have a choice of retirement awards, to include a wooden state seal with wood base, an acrylic star plaque with a black and gold base, or a mantle clock.

Larger photos of the awards can be found on the TDCJ Human Resources (HR) web page under Links of Interest, and HR representatives will have brochures available for distribution to agency retirees.

Employees can select their award when notifying HR of their retirement. Retirees who neglect to make an award choice will receive a written request, an awards brochure and a postage-paid envelope to help them make their selection.

Once processed, HR's Employee Services office will mail awards directly to retirees.
