Dunbar named deputy director RPD

In December, Marvin Dunbar was selected as deputy director of TDCJ's Rehabilitation Programs Division.

Dunbar holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from Sam Houston State University and has been with TDCJ for more than 25 years. During this time he has held various positions including correctional officer, property officer and community liaison with the Correctional Institutions Division, and auditor with the Internal Audit Division. Most recently, Dunbar was manager of Support Services in the Rehabilitation Programs Division where, as the agency's faith and community-based liaison, he facilitated communication among state agencies and public and private groups in order to help promote offender rehabilitation. Dunbar has also overseen a wide range of agency initiatives including chaplaincy, volunteer services and treatment programs such as the Serious Violent Offender Reentry Initiative and the Administrative Segregation Pre-release Program.

Commenting on his promotion, RPD Director Madeline Ortiz said, "Mr. Dunbar is an important asset for the agency and for this division. I look forward to the knowledge and leadership skills he will bring to this position."

Ramirez named deputy director for Parole Support Operations

In December, Marcus Ramirez was appointed deputy director of Support Operations for TDCJ’s Parole Division.

Ramirez holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Correctional Alternatives from the University of Texas at San Antonio and has more than 20 years experience with Parole. He began his career as parole officer before moving to management roles in both field and central operations. His most recent assignment was Region III director in Houston.

Stuart Jenkins, Parole Division director, praised Ramirez on his promotion, noting, "His extensive and diverse background, along with his integrity and strong work ethic, will serve the agency well."

Campbell named Parole
Region III director

In December, Kimberli Campbell was selected to fill the position of Region III Director for the Parole Division.

Campbell holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Texas Southern University and has more than 20 years experience with TDCJ's Parole Division. She began her career as a parole officer and held several supervisory positions, most recently as Parole's assistant region director in Houston. Parole Division Director Stuart Jenkins commended Campbell's promotion, saying, "Her extensive experience and leadership skills will serve the agency well as she assumes her new role."

2014 Holiday gift drive photos


Dallas Ft. Worth area Parole Thanksgiving food drive participants with donated food

Region III Parole offices collaborated with local community members to provide Thanksgiving meals for 131 families in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Middleton Unit gift drive participants wtih gifts

Middleton Unit staff donated toys and games to benefit children in the Abilene area. Representatives from the Armed Forces collected and delivered about 50 toys to the Abilene Civic Center where family members were allowed to pick items for their children. Robertson Unit toy drive participants with donated toys and gifts

The Robertson Unit participated in the Salvation Army's Angel Tree project by sponsoring almost 100 children. Parole division food drive participants processing donated food items

The Parole Division sponsored a food drive to benefit the Capitol Area Food Bank. The Warrants Section of the Parole Division won the competition by collecting 478 pounds of non-perishable food items.
