Sponsored by the TDCJ Ombudsman Program and coordinated by a team of agency staff from several departments, the PACT conference is free and open to the public. Presentations are designed to provide helpful information about agency programs, services and policies to offenders' family members and friends, community leaders, jail and prison ministries, criminal justice volunteers and advocates. This year's conference hosted 467 attendees and featured talks by members of the Texas Board of Criminal Justice, the Board of Pardons and Paroles, TDCJ senior staff and representatives from the Windham School District, along with resource tables and exhibit rooms where agency representatives answered questions and listened to comments.

The Summit will be followed with additional training opportunities, as well as regional follow-up meetings.
