TDCJ takes another silver medal in Texas Round-Up competition
TDCJ once again earned the silver medal for large agencies in the 2010 Texas Round-Up competition. Of the 9,560 agency employees who signed up to participate, 7,895 completed the full six-week physical fitness challenge. Only the Texas Department of Transportation and the Department of Public Safety registered higher participation and completion percentages among agencies with 5,000 or more full-time employees.
“This is tremendous, and my hat is off to each and every one of you,” Texas Board of Criminal Justice Chairman Oliver J. Bell told employees. The Nacogdoches Parole Office, Parole Division – Executive Administration, and the Correctional Institutions Division’s Office of the Deputy Director of Prison and Jail Administration each had 100 percent employee participation and a perfect completion rate. With more than 100 employees participating, the Walker Sayle Unit in Breckenridge was also recognized for achieving the highest completion rates among TDCJ departments, offices and units.
TDCJ has earned the silver medal in the Texas Round-Up the past four years.
