- BACKGROUND: In addition to his two years on the Board, Mr. LaFavers served 11 years with the Amarillo Police Department and nearly 30 years in civil law investigation, both as chief investigator with a law firm and as an independent Licensed Investigator. A member of the Texas Process Servers Association and the Texas Association of Accident Reconstruction Specialists, he is a past member of the Texas Panhandle Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center Public Responsibility Committee. He also is past president and board member of the Maverick Boys and Girls Club (which recently named him a Distinguished Alumni), past member of the Downtown Kiwanis Club and past president of the East Amarillo Kiwanis Club.
