BACKGROUND: In addition to her 16 years on the Board, Ms. Gonzalez served 13 years with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Division, five years with the Bexar County Juvenile Probation Department, and three years as a social worker in San Antonio. She is a member of the Texas Corrections Association and the Association of Paroling Authorities International, as well as the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas and the National Hispanic Institute. She also volunteers as an interpreter for the Austin Diocese Medical Missionary Team.
