EDUCATION: Certified master police officer and advanced instructor for the Texas Commission on Law enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE).
BACKGROUND: Mr. Chavez spent 34 years in law enforcement, including time with the Lone Star College System and retiring from the Houston Police Department. A member of the Houston Police Officer’s Union, a board member of the Judicial Compensation Commission, and a past member of TCLEOSE, he also served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
