Ombudsman and Open Records

Ombudsman:

The Ombudsman receives and responds to complaints and inquiries from the public about Board policies, procedures, rules and other matters within the jurisdiction of the Board. 

Questions about an offender’s parole review status may be directed to our status line: 936-291-2106.

Open Records:

The Public Information Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 552, provides public access to government records.  Although government information is presumed to be available to the public, certain exceptions may apply.

The Board of Pardons and Paroles maintains information on board decisions and meetings.  Requests for government records on those items may be directed to:
