Survey of Organizational Excellence 2008

The Survey of Organizational Excellence (SOE) is administered by the University of Texas School of Social Work. This survey is a tool utilized by the Agency to obtain employee attitudes regarding various workplace issues that ultimately impact the quality of our customer service.

This survey is one of the best methods for employees to express to Agency management how they perceive various aspects of the workplace. Responses provided are a powerful influence for implementing successful change. View the results.

84% of respondents indicated they expected to still be working for TDCJ in two years.

Workplace Dimensions

The Survey assessment consists of five Workplace Dimensions that capture the total work environment. Those dimensions are listed below. For additional information about each dimension and related questions, select the appropriate link.

Agency Response Rate

Employees were encouraged to complete the survey via on-line or hard copy. The Agency's survey response rate was 28% for 2008. Of those who responded, 1,859 were non-unit assigned staff and 9,100 were unit staff.
